Silver Valley Condo Association: We designed an all new responsive web site for the association that improves communications between the board and unit owners. The responsive web layout adjusts to PC monitor or smart phone, and everything in between.
2011-2013 - (two years-four months) Automotive Editor at ECS Tuning, a global seller and manufacturer of automotive parts and accessories for German cars, including VW/Audi, BMW, Porsche, and MINI. Responsibilities included writing ad copy, general web content, and white papers. Performed and documented installation and repairs on all German makes, photographing and illustrating the procedures and incorporating them in complete, interactive pdf tutorials using Adobe Creative Suite. (Dozens of these tutorials are currently available for free download from the ECS Tuning website.) Working with the staff videographer, wrote video scripts and recorded voice-overs. Working with the Research and Development engineers, test-fit and evaluated new products.
2012 - The Auto Emissions Bible - Co-authored with Sam Bell (2010 Cengage ASE Technician of the Year), this 300 page overview of auto emissions onboard diagnostics and repair strategies is written in plain language, and is suitable for educators, DIYers, and auto repair professionals. My role included writing copy, text editing, typeset, illustration, cover design, setting up ISBN, and complete book layout. Completed project sent print-ready to publisher. Real World Experience
Prior to becoming a magazine editor, I worked as an auto repair technician, working on all automotive systems in both domestic and imported makes. Certifications included ASE CMAT, Mazda Master Technician, VW Service Guild, and State of Ohio Certified I/M 240 instructor.
